If you are a midlife woman looking for love, you may be confused and disappointed at the way most midlife men come across.
Unfortunately, it is an occupational hazard for midlife women to find themselves looking for a new love partner.
It may be that your long-term partner dies or walks out. Or, perhaps your partner is still around, but love has walked out.
Maybe you have already started looking round for a replacement partner to provide the love you need. How have you found it?
Have you been disappointed or confused by the attitudes and behaviour of the midlife men who have come your way?
Do they seem much more self-centred and preoccupied with their needs than with yours?
Do you ask yourself what happened to the lusty young charmers who were around when you were young?
Truth is they’ve become the middle life men you are encountering now. They’ve become disillusioned and disappointed by life, just like many midlife women, and this has made them more cautious, self-centred and sometimes even bitter
It seems that men have an underlying character which is hidden when they are young with energy, charm and virility. Once they reach middle life and have been knocked about by life for 20 to 30 years, their underlying character emerges.
These characteristics are not the same for all men, and I’ve observed there are four common types. Interestingly I’ve found these underlying characters can be equated to the four male Pieces in the game of Chess.

Who is the strongest of them all?
I’ve made this the starting point of an-online learning programme calledHow to Find Love – A Guide for the Midlife Woman with some help from the Game of Chess. The course aims to provide practical orientation about the realities of finding and keeping love in middle life. As you will learn, this is very different from when we were younger. It requires a different mindset and attitude from us.The course has six topics which are covered in nine videos and six short quizzes. The total time to watch the videos and do the quizzes is a little over an hour. It surprised me how much information can be put across in that time.
